What started off as a simple birthday celebration a year ago for myself and my great friend Maggie has now become an event that I want to have more meaning than just another musical show.

Every time I hear about someone dying from cancer it brings forth overwhelming emotion having lost my own mother to this terrible disease. Now with the recent passing of Auri Nagger it is fresh in our minds the horrible and debilitating effects cancer has on the victim as well as the surrounding lives.

We all know about the great efforts Kevy Nova has made to raise money to fight cancer which is why I am so glad that he agreed to be part of this event.

I have mixed emotion about combining a birthday celebration with a cancer benefit. My thought is just about trying to bring many people together to raise awareness, tell our stories, celebrate life, and raise money for a good cause.
